This month, Attorney Thomas Dickson proudly served as a guest lecturer at a university in Poland, offering students and faculty a unique, firsthand look at the realities of the U.S. legal system.
Tom presented two lectures during his visit, both designed to bridge the gap between legal theory and real-world courtroom experience:
The lectures were hosted in Auditorium A and attended by students and faculty from the departments of Criminology, Criminal Justice, and Law.
The visit was made possible through the cooperation of the Center for International Legal Studies and the support of Professor Natalia Mushak, who graciously hosted Tom during his time at the university.

Drawing from more than 40 years of courtroom experience and over 100 jury trials, Tom shared practical insights into both criminal and civil trial practice in the United States. His talks highlighted the critical role of defense attorneys, key procedural safeguards, the dynamics of jury trials, and how federal and state legal systems intersect in real-world practice.
Students were encouraged to compare and contrast the American and European legal systems, creating a meaningful dialogue about procedure, advocacy, and justice.
“It’s always a privilege to share what I’ve learned from real-world experience,” Tom said. “Connecting with students and faculty who are passionate about law—no matter where in the world they are—is incredibly rewarding.”
Tom’s guest lectures reflect Dickson Law Office’s ongoing commitment to legal education, professional collaboration, and the global exchange of legal knowledge.
